GEORGE TOWN, June 20 — Motorists are advised to plan their journeys ahead as intermittent partial lane closures will be implemented along Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah from June 19 to August 16, 2026.
For preliminary works related to the Penang Mutiara Line LRT project. The closures will take place daily from 10pm to 5am. Involving the leftmost lanes near Tapak Pesta Sungai Nibong, JKR Quarters, Petron and Nibong Motor Enterprise.
The works are being carried out to facilitate utility identification and relocation for the LRT’s CMC1 package. Remaining lanes will stay open.
While traffic personnel, safety barriers and directional signage will be deployed to manage traffic flow and ensure road user safety.
