GEORGE TOWN, June 20 — Motorists travelling along Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah should expect intermittent partial lane closures from June 20 to September 5, 2026.
As preliminary works for the Penang Mutiara Line LRT project continue. The closures will be enforced daily from 8am to 4pm.
Involving the leftmost lane between the Sunny Point junction and the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) field, as well as the rightmost lane in front of the USM field heading towards Komtar.
The works involve drainage relocation and road widening under the Mutiara Line CMC1 package. Other lanes will remain open, with traffic personnel and safety measures deployed throughout the project period.
