BUTTERWORTH, June 21 — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced that the government will continue the Media Innovation Fund to support innovation and digital transformation across Malaysia’s media industry.
Speaking at the HAWANA 2026 grand finale, Anwar said RM24.57 million has already been disbursed to 72 media companies under the programme.
Introduced with an initial allocation of RM30 million, the fund supports technology adoption, digital strategies, content development and training for media practitioners.
Anwar said the government remains committed to helping media organisations adapt to technological changes and strengthen their role in delivering accurate, relevant and quality information to the public.
