BUTTERWORTH, June 21 — Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil announced that Telekom Malaysia will contribute RM500,000 to the Kasih@HAWANA Fund through its corporate social responsibility initiative.
Speaking at the HAWANA 2026 grand finale, Fahmi said the contribution will help ensure the sustainability of the welfare fund and extend assistance to more media practitioners in need.
Since its launch in 2023, the Kasih@HAWANA Fund has distributed RM2.26 million to 773 journalists and media workers nationwide.
Fahmi also called on government-linked companies and private firms to support local media organisations through sponsorships, partnerships and industry development initiatives.
