KOTA BHARU, June 22 — AirAsia has launched its inaugural direct flight between Jakarta and Kota Bharu, strengthening regional connectivity in support of the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.
The first flight arrived at Sultan Ismail Petra Airport carrying 117 passengers. Tourism Malaysia said the new route will improve access to Kelantan’s cultural, heritage and eco-tourism attractions.
While boosting tourism, trade and economic cooperation between Malaysia and Indonesia. The service is also expected to support medical tourism.
And position Kota Bharu as a strategic gateway to East Coast destinations and neighbouring southern Thailand.
