PUTRAJAYA, June 23 — The government is not considering restoring the BUDI95 monthly fuel quota to 300 litres at this stage, according to Finance Minister II Amir Hamzah Azizan.
He said the recently announced Middle East ceasefire remains too new to determine whether global oil market conditions have stabilised.
Amir Hamzah noted that despite the quota reduction from 300 to 200 litres in April, the impact has been manageable as more than 80 per cent of Malaysians use less than 200 litres monthly.
He added that the government will continue monitoring developments while encouraging prudent fuel consumption and maintaining the subsidised RON95 price at RM1.99 per litre.
