KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 — Hamzah Zainudin has officially resumed his role as Opposition Leader in the Dewan Rakyat, effective June 18, following confirmation by Speaker Johari Abdul.
Hamzah replaces Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, who briefly held the position after Hamzah stepped down earlier this year.
Johari said the decision followed notifications submitted by opposition leaders and discussions involving Perikatan Nasional MPs.
Hamzah’s return comes amid efforts to stabilise opposition leadership following internal political developments within Bersatu and recent tensions between Bersatu and PAS.
