KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 — Health Minister Dzulkefly Ahmad said the Malaysian Medical Council registered 854 overseas-qualified specialist doctors between January and May this year.
Including 849 Malaysians. He said 741 applications, or 87 per cent, were approved within three months or less.
Dzulkefly said the government remains committed to reversing brain drain and encouraging Malaysian specialists abroad to return and serve locally.
He added that amendments to the Medical Act 1971 have streamlined specialist registration and strengthened recognition of local and international specialist training pathways.
