KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 — The government has allocated RM25.2 million to install 3,000 solar-powered LED street lights at 32 accident-prone locations along major highways nationwide.
Works Minister Alexander Nanta Linggi said the initiative is aimed at improving road safety under the Madani Monitoring programme.
The project covers stretches of the North-South Expressway, Seremban–Port Dickson Expressway, Kuala Lumpur–Karak Expressway and the East Coast Expressway.
Physical works are set to begin immediately following the issuance of contracts, with full completion targeted by the end of November.
Authorities will monitor accident trends to assess the project’s effectiveness.
