KUALA LUMPUR, June 25 — The Housing and Local Government Ministry will introduce early intervention measures for housing projects at risk of becoming “sick” due to rising construction costs.
Housing Minister Nga Kor Ming said improvements to the Housing Development (Control and Licensing) Act 1966 will strengthen monitoring of high-risk projects and ensure timely completion.
The ministry will also promote modern construction technologies such as IBS and BIM to improve efficiency and reduce labour dependence. Additionally, the expanded Rahmah Cement Scheme.
Aims to lower material costs and support affordable housing, alongside homeownership initiatives including SJKP and Rent-to-Own programmes.
