KUALA LUMPUR, June 26 — Transport Minister Anthony Loke has urged Malaysia to take a leading role in the emerging Low Altitude Economy (LAE).
Describing it as a potential new growth engine for the country. Speaking at the Low Altitude Economy Forum 2026.
Loke said Malaysia should not merely adopt standards from other countries but help shape global frameworks for drones, UAVs, air taxis and eVTOL aircraft.
He highlighted opportunities in maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), logistics, tourism and advanced technology.
While stressing that a strong regulatory framework is essential for the sector’s safe growth.
