JOHOR BAHRU, June 27 — Election Commission of Malaysia has sold 593 nomination forms ahead of the Johor state election.
With 133 prospective candidates confirming their participation by paying the required deposits. EC chairman Ramlan Harun said all 56 nomination centres are fully prepared.
And urged candidates and supporters to comply with election regulations. Johor has 2,725,926 registered voters, with those aged 30 to 39 forming the largest voting bloc.
The election is expected to feature intense multi-cornered contests involving Barisan Nasional, Pakatan Harapan, Perikatan Nasional, Parti Bersama Malaysia,
Malaysian United Democratic Alliance and Parti Sosialis Malaysia. Key battlegrounds include Machap, Puteri Wangsa, Skudai and Bukit Batu.
Nomination takes place today, early voting is on July 7, while polling is scheduled for July 11.
