JOHOR BAHRU, June 28 — The Johor state election is shaping up to be one of the state’s most competitive contests, with Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan going head-to-head in 14 of the 56 state seats.
The election will feature three five-cornered contests, 12 four-cornered contests and 27 three-cornered fights. Key battlegrounds include Machap.
Where Onn Hafiz Ghazi faces PH’s Nur Hafiz Roslan, Puteri Wangsa featuring former education minister Maszlee Malik.
And Bukit Kepong where former Johor Menteri Besar Sahruddin Jamal leads PN’s challenge. Other closely watched seats include Permas, Pasir Raja, Larkin and Endau.
Where Parti Orang Asli Malaysia is making its electoral debut. Early voting is set for July 7, followed by polling on July 11.
