KEPALA BATAS, June 28 — Penang has allocated RM325,000 to implement its anti-drug action plan through 2030 as part of efforts to strengthen prevention, enforcement, treatment and rehabilitation.
Speaking at the National Anti-Drug Day 2026 celebration, Penang Youth, Sports and Health Committee chairman Daniel Gooi Zi Sen said the state recorded 13,655 drug abuse cases in 2025.
With most involving youths aged 15 to 39. A speech on behalf of Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said Malaysia recorded 191,832 drug abuse cases in 2025.
