KUALA LUMPUR, June 29 — The 2026 Sony Future Filmmaker Awards celebrated emerging filmmaking talent from around the world.
With more than 8,400 filmmakers from 162 countries participating in this year’s competition. While Singapore’s Christine Seow won the Non-Fiction category.
For Two Travelling Aunties, Malaysia was represented by filmmaker Arthur Teo Hui Teck, whose vertical-format short film The Night Shift.
Received a Commended recognition in the Future Format category. The awards, held at Sony Pictures Studios, aim to spotlight rising global talent.
And provide industry exposure through workshops, mentorship sessions and networking opportunities with leading filmmakers and studio executives.
