KUALA LUMPUR, July 4 — Microsoft Malaysia says Malaysian workers are embracing AI faster than organisations can adapt, creating a growing gap between workforce capability and workplace systems.
According to Microsoft’s 2026 Work Trend Index, 24% of Malaysian workers are “Frontier Professionals”, compared with 16% globally.
The study found 69% of Malaysian AI users are producing work they could not have created a year ago, while 92% remain responsible for reviewing and refining AI-generated output.
Microsoft said the challenge now lies in redesigning workflows, leadership practices and organisational structures to fully unlock AI-driven productivity and innovation.
