BUTTERWORTH, July 6 — Malaysia’s cooperative sector recorded nearly RM82 billion in revenue in 2025, up almost 20% from RM68 billion in 2024, announced Steven Sim Chee Keong.
Speaking at the National Cooperative Day 2026 celebration, Steven Sim unveiled two major Ar-Rahnu reforms effective September 2026.
Including the abolition of the 2.5% marhun fee and new profit rate caps. He also announced RM254 million in funding for 2026.
The largest allocation in the movement’s history—to accelerate digitalisation, green technology adoption and cooperative growth, with the sector aiming to surpass RM100 billion in revenue by 2030.
