JOHOR BAHRU, July 12 — Barisan Nasional (BN) scored a landslide victory in the Johor state election, winning 48 of the 56 seats to secure a two-thirds majority in the State Legislative Assembly.
According to the Election Commission (EC). Johor Barisan Nasional chairman and Johor Menteri Besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi retained the Machap seat and thanked voters for their support.
Pledging to serve all Johoreans regardless of race or political affiliation. Meanwhile, Pakatan Harapan (PH) won the remaining eight seats.
While Perikatan Nasional (PN), Parti Bersama Malaysia and Muda failed to secure any representation in the new state assembly.
Barisan Nasional chairman and Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said BN would continue working closely with the Federal Unity Government following its victory.
