KUALA LUMPUR, July 13 — Sun Life Malaysia has found that only 11% of Malaysians feel financially secure as rising living costs continue to strain household finances.
Its latest Financial Resilience Index revealed 87% of respondents struggle to meet monthly expenses due to inflation, while 70% said they could not cope beyond six months after losing their income.
Grocery prices (94%), transport fuel (94%), utilities (92%) and healthcare (89%) were among the biggest cost pressures.
The study also found financially literate households were significantly more confident and resilient despite ongoing economic challenges.
