MELAKA, July 14 — Melaka DAP chairman Khoo Poay Tiong announced that the party is withdrawing from the Melaka state government after the State Legislative Assembly passed a constitutional amendment.
Allowing the appointment of up to seven nominated state assemblymen. Khoo said the move was made on principle, arguing that state assemblymen should be elected by the people.
Rather than appointed. He said DAP’s two executive councillors, two deputy executive councillors and the deputy speaker will resign from their government posts.
