BUTTERWORTH, July 14 — A woman caused a brief scare after bringing two mortar shells she discovered while clearing her late father’s house in Taman Bagan to the Butterworth police station.
The woman wanted police to determine whether the objects were live explosives. An inspection by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Bomb Disposal Unit confirmed both were military training mortar shells.
Containing no explosives and posed no danger. Penang Police Chief Dennis Lim Kwang Keng confirmed the incident, adding that the shells have been taken for further action.
