GEORGE TOWN, July 16 — Penang Infrastructure, Transport and Digital EXCO Zairil Khir Johari said installation of 62 beach containers has begun at Lone Pine, Batu Ferringhi to reduce coastal erosion.
The RM500,000 mitigation project will protect 44 metres of the most severely affected shoreline and is expected to remain effective for two to three years.
While awaiting a long-term coastal protection project under the 12th Malaysia Plan (RMK-12). Authorities said the work.
Which started on July 8, has been planned to minimise disruption to tourism, public safety and the environment.
