GEORGE TOWN, July 18 — George Town Festival (GTF) 2026 returns from Aug 1 to 9, bringing more than 40 programmes by artists from 10 countries under the theme “Beyond Boundaries”.
This year’s festival features a diverse line-up of visual arts, theatre, dance, music, film, public installations, workshops and community activities across George Town.
With over 80% of the programmes offered free, GTF continues to make arts and culture accessible while encouraging visitors to explore the city’s heritage and public spaces.
Through contemporary creativity. The festival also strengthens its international presence through collaborations with the Embassy of Spain in Malaysia.
The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Penang, as well as regional partners from South Korea and Singapore.
