TAMPIN, July 20 — Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani said Barisan Nasional (BN) will conduct a healthy and civil campaign throughout the Negeri Sembilan state election.
Urging party machinery to engage voters in a mature and respectful manner. He said BN’s focus is on presenting capable candidates and allowing voters to decide.
While adding that any future cooperation with Perikatan Nasional (PN) would depend on whether both coalitions could find common ground.
Meanwhile, Negeri Sembilan Umno chairman Datuk Jalaluddin Alias thanked PN for publicly backing BN to lead the state should the alliance secure victory on Aug 1.
He said discussions on the Menteri Besar post and state executive council appointments would only take place after the election if BN and PN obtain enough seats to form the state government.
