GEORGE TOWN, July 24 — 1926 Heritage Hotel Penang has officially opened following a RM20 million restoration, marking a new chapter for the century-old landmark under The Unlimited Collection by The Ascott Limited.
Officiated by Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, the 78-room heritage hotel preserves its original Anglo-Malay architecture while offering modern hospitality experiences.
Chow said the project reflects Penang’s commitment to heritage conservation, sustainable tourism and economic growth through adaptive reuse.
Located along Jalan Burma, the hotel features wellness, dining and art spaces that celebrate local culture, while creating employment opportunities and strengthening Penang’s position as a leading heritage and lifestyle tourism destination.
