GEORGE TOWN, July 24 — Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow announced that the state will begin upgrading its eastern seafront following the completion of restoration works.
Along the northern waterfront, including Fort Cornwallisand the Beach Street-Weld Quay Nature-Based Climate Adaptation Programme.
Chow said the project aims to enhance infrastructure, beautify public spaces and strengthen Penang’s appeal as a tourism destination. He also launched the 1926 Heritage Hotel Penang,
Which reopened after a RM20 million refurbishment with 78 rooms, while urging stricter traffic enforcement along Burma Road to reduce congestion near the hotel.
