TAMPIN, July 28 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Malaysia’s only cost for hosting the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2026 will be RM16 million to upgrade and maintain the Sepang International Circuit.
Anwar said Malaysia will not pay any FIA registration or hosting fees, making the event significantly more cost-effective than previous Formula One races.
He added that Malaysia was selected because of its political stability, efficient administration and world-class infrastructure, with the race expected to boost tourism, aviation and the local economy.
