KUALA LUMPUR, July 29 — The Ministry of Digital and the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) have withdrawn their support for Malaysia Blockchain Week (MYBW) 2026.
Following controversy surrounding its official after-party. The agencies said they were not involved in planning, approving or promoting the after-party or selecting its guests.
And directed organisers to remove all materials bearing their names, logos and the Digital Minister’s image. Following public backlash, organisers apologised.
Withdrew the promotional materials and removed Ms Pui Yi from the after-party line-up. The conference will proceed on July 29-30 as scheduled.
