BAYAN LEPAS, July 29 — Renesas Semiconductor (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd has launched Phase 2 of its Solar Panel Car Park Project, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable manufacturing in Penang.
Officiating the launch, Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the project supports the state’s Penang2030 vision and clean energy goals, with the installation expected to reduce 720 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
Renesas also announced plans to invest RM1 billion over the next two years to expand AI-related manufacturing, creating about 200 high-value jobs while strengthening Penang’s position as a global semiconductor hub.
