GEORGE TOWN, July 30 — German life science company Eppendorf SE has signed a lease agreement to establish its first Southeast Asian manufacturing facility at Bandar Cassia Technology Park in Penang.
The €40 million (about RM180 million) investment will produce selected laboratory instruments, including centrifuges and mixers, with production scheduled to begin in 2028.
Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the project strengthens the state’s position in scientific and measuring equipment manufacturing.
While supporting healthcare, life sciences and advanced manufacturing. The facility is expected to create around 130 jobs by the end of 2029.
