GEORGE TOWN, July 31 — Wawasan Open University (WOU) has appointed Professor Ts. Dr. Yap Eng Hwa as its new Chief Executive and Vice-Chancellor, effective July 1, 2026.
Prof. Yap succeeds Prof. Dr. Lily Chan and becomes the university’s fifth Vice-Chancellor. Having joined WOU in 2024.
He previously served as Associate Vice-Chancellor and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), leading initiatives to strengthen academic quality and industry collaboration.
WOU said his appointment supports the university’s mission to expand flexible, industry-relevant education while meeting Malaysia’s growing talent needs.
