SEREMBAN, August 1 — Voting has begun for the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election, with 401 polling centresinvolving 1,668 streams opening at 8am for 859,760 registered voters.
To elect representatives for the state’s 36 legislative seats. The Election Commission (EC) is targeting a voter turnout of 72% to 75%, with results expected from 10pm onwards.
The EC reminded voters to bring their identity cards, refrain from using mobile phones at polling channels and avoid wearing or carrying campaign materials at polling stations.
Campaigning officially ended at 11.59pm on Friday. Weather is expected to remain generally fair in the morning, with thunderstorms forecast in parts of the state later in the day.
