CUPERTINO, August 2 — Apple Inc. reportedly cancelled plans to develop its high-end M2 Extreme and M3 Extremechips, which were intended to deliver double the performance of the company’s Ultra processors.
According to reports, Apple also worked on two unreleased Mac Pro models, including one powered by an Intel processor and another featuring an M3 Ultra chip.
Both projects were ultimately abandoned due to production costs and limited market demand. Apple officially discontinued the Mac Pro earlier this year.
Ending the desktop workstation’s 20-year history and shifting its professional desktop focus to the Mac Studio lineup.
