SEREMBAN, August 2 — The Election Commission (EC) has officially confirmed that Barisan Nasional (BN) won 18 seats, Perikatan Nasional (PN) secured seven.
And Pakatan Harapan (PH) obtained 11 seats in the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election, giving the BN-PN alliance a two-thirds majority to form the new state government.
Within BN, Umno won 16 seats and MCA two, while PH’s victories comprised nine DAP and two PKR seats. PN’s seven seats were won by PAS (4) and Wawasan (3).
While Bersatu and other parties failed to secure any seats. Following the victory, BN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi led a delegation of BN and PN leaders for an audience.
With Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir to begin the process of forming the new state administration. The election also saw major upsets.
Including the defeats of DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke in Chennah and former Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun in Linggi.
