SEREMBAN, August 2 — Pakatan Harapan (PH) has attributed its defeat in the Negeri Sembilan state election to what it described as a campaign dominated by racial and identity politics.
Saying such rhetoric risks dividing Malaysia’s multi-ethnic society. Based on unofficial results, PH secured 11 seats, while the BN-PN alliance won 25 seats, enough to form the next state government.
PH election director Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the coalition would review its political messaging ahead of the next general election.
Meanwhile, outgoing Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun accepted the result, while DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke also lost his Chennah seat, marking major setbacks for the coalition.
