SEREMBAN, August 2 — Unofficial results indicate that Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) have secured enough seats to form the next Negeri Sembilan state government.
BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the coalition had won 18 seats, while PN secured seven, giving the alliance a two-thirds majority.
He said discussions on forming the new state administration and an audience with the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan would follow.
Separately, unofficial results also showed Negeri Sembilan Umno chief Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias retaining the Pertang state seat.
The Election Commission’s official results were still pending at the time of writing.
