GEORGE TOWN, August 4 — Air Putih assemblyman Lim Guan Eng has urged Perbadanan Bekalan Air Pulau Pinang (PBAPP) to delay the state’s water tariff increase by one year.
Arguing that the utility should not claim the Penang public is the primary beneficiary of its profits. He said PBAPP, as a wholly owned subsidiary of PBA Holdings Bhd.
Has a primary responsibility to maximise shareholder value. Lim argued that postponing the tariff hike until 2027 would have minimal impact on PBAPP’s RM2.1 billion water projects.
