GEORGE TOWN, August 8 — The Penang State Government will instruct both local authorities to immediately halt the implementation of the Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system.
And conduct a review, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said. Following a meeting with Penang DAP chairman Steven Sim and vice-chairman Zairil Khir Johari.
Chow said they also discussed current economic pressures affecting Penangites. He stressed that the state must listen closely to public concerns.
And ensure policies genuinely serve people’s interests. Several measures aimed at easing the financial burden on residents will be detailed and announced soon.
