PETALING JAYA, August 8 — PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang has confirmed that Perikatan Nasional (PN)and Barisan Nasional (BN) have begun preliminary negotiations over seat allocations.
For the upcoming Melaka state election. Hadi said discussions would seek a mutually acceptable formula while taking previous election results into consideration.
He described the cooperation as an effort to strengthen Malay-Muslim unity and interests. The talks follow the successful BN-PN electoral arrangement in Negeri Sembilan.
Melaka’s current state assembly term ends in December, with an election required within 60 days of dissolution.
