GEORGE TOWN, August 12 — PBA Holdings Bhd (PBAHB) said the bulk of its profits are being reinvested into Penang’s water infrastructure while maintaining dividend payments to shareholders.

CEO Dato’ Ir. Pathmanathan K. said PBAHB recorded RM114.55 million in profit after tax for 2025, while RM16.55 million was distributed as dividends.

For 2026, subsidiary PBAPP has allocated RM631 million in capital expenditure for critical water projects, including Water Contingency Plan 2030 initiatives.

As the allocation exceeds 2025 profits, PBAPP plans to draw about RM531 million from its RM5 billion sukuk programme.

The company said investment is necessary as Penang’s treated water consumption is projected to increase from 865 million litres per day in 2025 to at least 1,162 MLD by 2032.
