GEORGE TOWN, August 13 — DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke Siew Fook met around 400 party leaders and delegates from the northern region in Penang tonight for a closed-door session lasting more than two hours.
The meeting comes ahead of DAP’s national congress on Aug 16, where 4,264 delegates are expected to vote by secret ballot on whether the party should remain in government for the remainder of the parliamentary term.
Senior leaders attending included Lim Guan Eng, Chow Kon Yeow, Steven Sim and Ramkarpal Singh, alongside other northern region party leaders.
The Penang session forms part of discussions ahead of what is expected to be a pivotal decision on DAP’s direction in the federal government.
