ALOR SETAR, August 13 — Kedah PAS has vowed to continue efforts against gambling after the Federal Court rejected the state government’s application to appeal a ruling.
That declared its gambling licensing directive unconstitutional. State PAS commissioner Datuk Ahmad Yahaya said the party respected the court’s decision despite being disappointed with the outcome.
The Kedah government had stopped issuing and renewing licences for gambling premises from Jan 1, 2023. Ahmad said PAS would continue pursuing its position against gambling within the existing legal framework.
