BUTTERWORTH, August 14 — Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Lim Hui Ying said the Malaysian Social Work Profession Council will be established.
Once the Social Work Profession Act comes into force. The ministry is currently completing the gazettement process after the bill was passed by both the Dewan Rakyatand Dewan Negara.
The council will comprise representatives from the government, private sector, NGOs, academia and social work practitioners, and will oversee professional registration.
Competency standards, ethics and disciplinary matters to strengthen the profession and safeguard public interest.
