KUALA LUMPUR, August 15 — Maxis Bhd reported a 9.6% year-on-year increase in second-quarter net profit to RM436 million, supported by stronger service revenue and operating discipline.
Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 rose 3.7% to RM2.66 billion, while service revenue increased 2.2% to RM2.25 billion. First-half net profit climbed 10.9% to RM853 million on RM5.39 billion revenue.
Maxis invested RM171 million in network upgrades and fibre expansion, while operating free cash flow rose 8.9% to RM991 million. The telecommunications group also declared an interim dividend of four sen per share.
