PUTRAJAYA, August 19 — DAP has urged Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to provide equal constituency development funds to all MPs and introduce legislation to permanently guarantee fair allocations.
Party chairman Gobind Singh Deo said equal funding was a Pakatan Harapan election commitment and should be implemented without further delay.
He welcomed Anwar’s additional RM1 million allocation for each of Malaysia’s 222 parliamentary constituencies but said it did not resolve the issue of equal funding for MPs.
Gobind said legislation would remove political discretion from allocations and ensure voters are not disadvantaged because of their political choices.
