KUALA LUMPUR, August 25 — Budget 2027 should focus on measurable improvements in household purchasing power, wages, employment and public services, Taylor’s University senior lecturer Paul Anthony Maria Das said.
He said targeted financial assistance remains important, but stronger productivity and real wage growth provide a more sustainable response to cost-of-living pressures.
Das called for investment incentives to be tied more closely to skilled jobs, employee training and wage progression. He also urged greater attention to housing affordability, ageing,
Graduate employment and middle-income households, alongside transparent reporting on how government spending improves everyday outcomes.
