SEBERANG PERAI, September 2 — Budget 2027 will include funding for allowances for Form Six students, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced Friday.
Anwar, who is also finance minister, said the government recognised a gap in financial support for Form Six and other pre-university students.
The amount, eligibility criteria and implementation details have not been finalised and will depend on the government’s financial capacity.
Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said the proposed allowance was among 12 resolutions raised by students at a pre-university congress.
Budget 2027 is scheduled to be tabled in October.
