GEORGE TOWN, September 2 — Malaysian and Thai police have dismantled a cross-border drug trafficking network, seizing 252.2kg of suspected methamphetamine in operations in both countries.
The investigation led Malaysian police to launch Op Zoraptera, arresting four suspects aged 19 to 25 in Penang and Selangor and seizing 86.2kg of drugs. Thai authorities earlier seized 166kg in Hua Hin.
Police said the syndicate used modified vehicles with hidden compartments and had operated since June. Three suspects were charged under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
