PUTRAJAYA, September 2 — Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has ordered the Rural and Regional Development Ministry to accelerate outstanding work under a new “Operation Zero Delay”.
Zahid said the ministry should focus during the final four months of 2026 on completing existing projects rather than launching too many new initiatives.
All unresolved projects, payments, land matters, utilities, contracts and decisions must be reviewed and assigned clear responsibility and deadlines. He also called for prompt payments to contractors for completed work.
Warning that delays could affect suppliers, subcontractors and workers. Zahid said impractical projects should be formally closed rather than left unresolved.
