SUBANG JAYA, September 4 — The government conducted cloud seeding over Perlis and Kedah on Thursday to increase rainfall and support water levels at major dams.
The operation targeted Timah Tasoh Dam in Perlis and the Ahning, Pedu, Muda and Beris dams in Kedah.
An RMAF C-130H aircraft carried four tanks of salt solution, although seeding over Ahning was skipped because suitable clouds were unavailable.
MetMalaysia said further cloud seeding may be considered to address dry weather, El Nino and haze, subject to suitable atmospheric conditions.
